I have always had a passion for languages and for discovering different cultures.

So translation studies seemed a natural choice. But in the three years I spent working in Monterrey in northern Mexico, I quickly realised that learning the language is only one part of the puzzle. Communication, especially in the business environment, is based on so much more than just language. Cultural aspects, too, are decisive when it comes to grasping meaning and developing a shared basis for working together.

In order to close this gap, and to deepen my understanding of the significance of culture for communication, I decided to do a postgraduate course in intercultural communication and cooperation after returning home to Germany. An MBA at the University of Otago in New Zealand rounded off my profile, offering me valuable insights into the business challenges international companies and their employees face in the era of globalisation. My goal is to use my expertise to enhance your company’s success.
